On 28.09.2001 was opened, the first Pressure Ulcers Center in Republic of Macedonia in Gerontology Institute 13 November. Guest of the event was the Minister of health Mr. Nikola Todorov.

• Call center – which is available every work day, with possibility of consultations with Doctor and specialist nurse
• Daily hospital – for consultations and dressing
• Home visit – for dressing and instructions for patients and their families
• Center for education of:
• Nurses
• Patients and their families

Manual for patients and home caregivers was promoted, which is the first manual of this kind in the country.

Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Gerontology Institute’s experts work on Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of pressure Ulcers, and the hospital protocols for this issue.

GOAL: Standardized protocols and documentation in all hospitals in the Republic of Macedonia.
